A Burns Speaker
IMAGE 2-1:
Burns Speakers
- We can arrange Speakers for Scottish Gala Evenings and Burns Suppers
to 'Address the Haggis' and possibly other things like the Toast to the 'Immortal Memory of the Bard',
the
'Toast to the Lasses', and 'Tam 0' Shanter', we can also supply singers and expert orators to sing and recite as required.
We can arrange our Speakers to be seated
amongst your Guests or at a side table. Our speakers can propose all the
Toasts leaving your Guests to make replies as required, or we can undertake
the entire programme by way of an evening's entertainment. Our speakers might operate under your own
Chairmanship or we can arrange to chair the Dinner on your behalf. Such events can last anything from two to
eight hours dictated by Client's requirements.

Cabaret pipes and drums
IMAGE 2-2:
We have access to some of the best cabaret acts that Scotland can offer.

Clansmen
IMAGE 2-3:
Clansmen will provide 'mock' fights for your guests to be amazed at. Sparks do
fly! All of the fighters are knowledgeable in their craft and can explain the
history of Scotland and it's clans. The fighters can also take the form of
Romans, marauders (thieves), or medieval Scottish knights?

Scottish Folk
IMAGE 2-4:
Our Folk bands can keep the party going with their folk songs and can usually be
joined by other instrumentalists to create a ceilidh band for any dancing.

Ceilidh and Accordion bands
IMAGE 2-5:
- A Ceilidh Band will play traditional Scottish music [normally a mix of
Accordions, Fiddle, Guitar] - they are usually either a 3 piece or 4 piece band.
Most bands will have a 'caller' if you're guests are unsure of the dances. If
you need a helping hand we have Scottish Country Dancers available to provide a
show or to demonstrate the dances and get your guests involved. This is sure to
be a talking point when the Managing director gets up to show his skills on the
Dance floor.
A note about Highland and Scottish Country Dancers... what's the difference
you may ask? Highland Dancing is a very technical form of dancing and is usually
done as a demonstration for guests - it is not for audience participation. The
music will normally be provided by a Highland Piper and the dances could be the
'Highland Fling' or 'Sword Dance' (where the dancer or group of dancers dance
tip toe between the blades of a sword). Scottish Country dancing may also be
demonstrated but the emphasis on this is usually for audience participation. The
usual form or music for this type of dancing would be the Ceilidh or Accordion
band. The dances would range from 'Waltz's', 'Two Steps' and 'Gay Gordon's' to
the 'Dashing White Sergeant' and the 'Strip the Willow' - depending on the band
these can be done at a fairly brisk pace.

A Malt Whisky tasting
IMAGE 2-6:
Whisky Tastings - A hugely popular part of our services for groups visiting
Scotland, whether as pre-Dinner drinks or part of an evening's entertainment,
our Tastings can be tailored for small intimate Dinners through to Receptions
with hundreds of Guests.
Whilst the emphasis on our Tastings is on Entertainment as opposed to
Education, hosts at our Tastings are always able to answer the Technical
Questions which may be asked. Our Tastings can be very low key with Hosts merely
describing the various whiskies on offer, allowing the Guests to Nose and Taste
them, then standing by to pour as required, or formed into a humorous Quiz with
as many prizes as you or your Clients care to provide. We use four types of
Single Malt Whisky, each very different in character, colour, nose and palate
all designed to highlight the traditions of this legendary Scottish craft.
Whisky and Glasses can be supplied if venues are unable to assist.
See the F.A.Q. section for more information.
